about

written after i read the book called "frozen in time" by owen beattie and john geiger. it is about the ill-fated arctic expedition to find the north-west passage, of Sir John Franklin in 1845-1848. They were never found. Lady Franklin spared no expense trying to find him. She spent the rest of her life doing so and became quite a knowledgeable person about the arctic and the search for the north-west passage.

lyrics

know as the man, shoes he ate
he could survive anything
one hundred men looked to him
they're of to sea without

he never returned

10 000 pounds
i would freely give
to know on earth
that my franklin do live

they had enough for three years
a sailing ship to withstand
one hundred souls to their grave
no single one to be saved

Scrapwood and Wire is a record of this weekend ... more
